Appeal for witnesses following aggravated burglary

Warwickshire Police is appealing for witnesses or information following an aggravated burglary in Earlswood.

At 11.15 last night (Monday 5 November), three males forced entry to a house in Mill Lane.

A 55-year-old man was attacked with an axe causing serious injuries to his head and shoulder. He was taken to hospital where he is in a stable condition.

An 85-year-old man suffered facial injuries after being attacked with an iron bar.

Items of silverware and a laptop were taken before the offenders left the property.

Detective Sergeant Collette O'Keefe from Leamington Spa CID said: "A thorough investigation has been launched to identify and locate the offenders and local residents may see an increased police presence in the area over the next few days.

"We are urging anyone who witnessed the incident or saw anything suspicious to come forward.

"Anyone with information that could assist our investigation can call 101 quoting incident 530 of 5 November 2018."
