Man jailed for series of burglaries

A man has been jailed following a spate of burglaries in and around Bedworth.

Steven Roger McCluskey, 38, of Vicarage Lane, Ash Green, Coventry, was jailed at Warwickshire Crown Court on Wednesday (17 October), after pleading guilty to three burglaries.

Two of the offences took place on 12 February on Coventry Road, Exhall, and River Close, Bedworth. The other offence took place on Coventry Road, Exhall, on 26 February.

McCluskey was identified through CCTV following one of the offences on Coventry Road.

He was sentenced to five years and six months in prison.

Detective Sergeant Todd Lomax said: "We are very pleased that Steven McCluskey is now behind bars; it will bring a sense of the relief to the local community that he blighted with his behaviour.

"As well as the financial value of the items he stole, there is the personal anguish caused to people who feel their homes have been violated.

"Our community is a happier and safer place now McCluskey is behind bars."
