Appeal after sexual assault in Nuneaton

Detectives in Nuneaton are appealing for information after a teenage woman was sexually assaulted in the town in the early hours of this morning (Friday 12 October).

The incident happened on the bridge on Croft Road, at the junction with Tomkinson Road, some time between 3.20am and 3.45am. The woman was approached from behind and sexually assaulted by an unknown male.

Detective Sergeant Amjad Iqbal, of Nuneaton CID, said: "This was a frightening attack on a lone woman and we are appealing for anyone with information that could help us identify the offender to contact police immediately.

"There were quite a few cars in the area at the time so we're keen to hear from anyone who saw anything suspicious. I would ask anyone with dash cam footage from the area to check it for anything that may be helpful to our investigation.

"We're also keen to speak to anyone who saw the woman on Queens Road prior to the attack."

Anyone with information is asked to call 101 quoting incident 38 of 12 October 2018. Alternatively, call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
