Incident in Nuneaton

Officers are currently in attendance on Merevale Court, Nuneaton.

Police were called shortly after 8.30pm this evening to a report that a man in his thirties had sustained a suspected gunshot wound to his leg.
 
He has been taken to hospital by ambulance. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening at this time.
 
Inspector Jo Bunting from Warwickshire Police said: "Officers remain on Merevale Court as part of the investigation and a scene guard is currently in place.
 
"We are in the very early stages of the investigation and extensive enquiries are currently ongoing.
 
"I understand that this incident will be concerning for the local community. I'd like to reassure them that a thorough investigation has been launched and we will have extra officers in the area overnight carrying out enquiries and providing reassurance.
 
"If anyone witnessed the incident or has any information that may assist with enquiries, please call Warwickshire Police on 101 quoting incident reference 400 of 24 September 2018."
