Man arrested on suspicion of intending to supply class A drugs in Nuneaton

A man has been arrested on suspicion of possession of class A drugs with intent to supply in Nuneaton.

On Thursday (30 August), officers from the Nuneaton Offender Management Unit went to an address on Church Road as part of a separate inquiry.

They found the 22-year-old man from Dudley acting suspiciously and after searching him seized a quantity of a drug believed to be crack cocaine, a meat cleaver, cash, and several mobile phones. Two car keys belonging to cars stolen from Coventry and Dudley were also seized.

The man has been released under investigation for this offence while enquiries continue.

Detective Sergeant Chris Cook said: "There is no doubting the harmful affect drug dealing has on our communities.

"Our message is clear: we are committed to tackling the supply of drugs and we will target anyone we suspect is involved in dealing.

"The support of the public is vital in achieving this and I would urge people with concerns around drug dealing to call 101 to report it."
