Man charged after police officer injured in Nuneaton

Police have charged a man with a number of offences after a car collided with a police officer in Nuneaton.

It happened after police responded to a report of disorder in Tomkinson Road, Stockingford, at 7.16pm on Monday (30 July).

The police officer suffered a minor hand injury when the car collided with him during the incident.

Jack Matthew Ian Clark, 22, of Mosley Road, Birmingham, has been charged with assaulting a police officer, driving without due care and attention, driving without insurance, and driving without a licence.

He has been bailed to appear at Warwickshire Magistrates' Court on 15 August.

An 18-year-old woman arrested on suspicion of affray and possession of cannabis has been released under investigation for the affray and cautioned for the possession of cannabis.

Two 16-year-old boys and an 18-year-old man, all from Nuneaton and arrested on suspicion of affray, have been released under investigation.

A 17-year-old girl from Wem, Shropshire, arrested on suspicion of a burglary in Wem was also released under investigation.
