Three arrests made in connection with Nuneaton incident

Two men and a woman have been arrested after an incident in Nuneaton in which a man sustained gunshot wounds.

Police were called to Bull Street shortly before 3am on Friday (29 June) and a man in his late 20s was taken to hospital by ambulance where he remains in a serious condition.

A 22-year-old man from Birmingham and a 37-year-old man from Bedworth were arrested in Queens Road, Nuneaton, last night (Tuesday) as a result of a pre-planned operation in connection with the incident.

A woman from Nuneaton has also been arrested this morning (Wednesday) in connection with the incident. All three individuals remain in police custody at this time.

Detective Chief Inspector Pete Hill said: "Enquiries are still ongoing and we continue to thoroughly investigate the circumstances. At this stage, it is being treated as an isolated incident and is believed to have been targeted.

"I would like to thank of the local community for their patience during the early stages of this investigation. If anyone has any information which could assist us, no matter how insignificant it may seem, please get in touch."
