Amended: Murder investigation - Bedworth

Two people have been arrested on suspicion of murder following the death of a man in Bedworth.

Police were called to Croft Pool, Bedworth, at 11.47am on Saturday morning (23 June) after a man in his thirties was found with multiple injuries inside a property. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.
 
The man's next of kin has been informed. Formal identification is yet to take place.

Four people have been arrested in connection with the investigation:

  • A 37-year-old man from Bedworth has been arrested on suspicion of murder. He remains in police custody at this time.
  • A 27-year-old man from Bedworth has been arrested on suspicion of murder and has been released on police bail.
  • A 39-year-old man from Bedworth has been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender and handling stolen goods, and a 40-year-old man from Bedworth has been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender. They have been released under investigation.

A cordon remains in place around the property whilst investigations continue.

Detective Inspector Neil Reader, based at Nuneaton Police Station, said: "An investigation has been launched and we are working to establish the circumstances of the man's death, which is currently being treated as murder.

"Officers will remain in the area whilst enquiries are ongoing and increased patrols will be carried out to offer reassurance to the local community. If anyone has any concerns or information we would ask them to please speak with an officer.

"We are exploring a number of lines of enquiry and as part of the investigation, we would ask anyone who witnessed any suspicious activity in the area between 3pm on Friday 22 June and 11.45am on Saturday 23 June, or who may have any information which could assist with enquiries, to please come forward.

"Our thoughts are with the man's family and friends at this difficult time."
