Police name man whose body was discovered in the River Avon

Police have confirmed that a body discovered in the River Avon in Stratford on Tuesday 29 May is that of Cameron Whelan, 26, from Birmingham.

It is believed Cameron went into the river on Friday 25 May evening sparking a major search and rescue operation.

His body was recovered from the river by dive teams on the Tuesday evening.

In a statement, Cameron's family said: "Cameron will be highly missed; he was loved by everyone who knew him."
