Kenilworth Community Forum Priorities to be completed by 26-JUN-2018 - Completed

Issue

1. Due to a number of incidents/crimes reported in Kenilworth town centre there is concern from members of the public.

2. Due to a number of incidents/crimes reported in the St. John's ward area of Kenilworth there is concern from members of the public.

3. There is concern from members of the public in relation to excess vehicle speed on Cromwell Lane, Burton Green.

Suggestion

  1. Crime Reduction Patrols - Kenilworth Town Centre: To prevent/deal with incidents of theft and anti-social behaviour, and to provide reassurance to businesses/members of the public conduct a minimum of 15 dedicated high-visibility patrols.
  2. Anti-Social Behaviour Patrols - St. John's Ward, Kenilworth: To prevent/deal with anti-social behaviour and to provide reassurance to members of the local community conduct a minimum of 15 dedicated high-visibility patrols. 
  3. Speed Checks/Monitoring - Cromwell Lane, Burton Green: To prevent/deal with speeding motorists, promote speed reduction/awareness, educate motorists and provide reassurance to the local community conduct a minimum of 10 speed checks/monitoring sessions.   

Action

Kenilworth Safer Neighbourhood Team will provide updates on a regular basis for the duration of these priority tasks.

1. Crime Reduction Patrols - Kenilworth Town Centre

  • Between 13-FEB-2018 (priorities set) and 12-MAR-2018 Kenilworth Safer Neighbourhood Team conducted nine dedicated patrols in Kenilworth town centre. Members of the public and businesses were regularly engaged with. SNT officers detained a number of shoplifters in the town centre. Offenders were searched and have since been banned from a number of businesses in the town centre.
  • Between 13-MAR-2018 and 12-MAY-2018 Kenilworth Safer Neighbourhood Team conducted nine dedicated patrols in Kenilworth town centre. Members of the public and businesses were regularly engaged with. SNT officers continue to work with businesses in the town to prevent/detect theft.
  • Between 13-MAY-2018 and 26-JUN-2018 Kenilworth Safer Neighbourhood Team conducted five dedicated patrols in Kenilworth town centre. Members of the public and businesses were regularly engaged with. SNT officers continue to work with businesses in the town to prevent/detect theft.

2. Anti-Social Behaviour Patrols - St. John's Ward, Kenilworth

  • Between 13-FEB-2018 (priorities set) and 12-MAR-2018 Kenilworth Safer Neighbourhood Team conducted nine dedicated patrols in the St. John's ward area. Members of the public and businesses were regularly engaged with. SNT officers engaged with persons causing anti-social behaviour and dealt appropriately. 
  • Between 13-MAR-2018 and 12-MAY-2018 Kenilworth Safer Neighbourhood Team conducted two dedicated patrols in the St. John's ward area. Members of the public and businesses were regularly engaged with. SNT officers engaged with persons causing anti-social behaviour and dealt appropriately. 
  • Between 13-MAY-2018 and 26-JUN-2018 Kenilworth Safer Neighbourhood Team conducted five dedicated patrols in the St. John's ward area. Members of the public and businesses were regularly engaged with.

3. Speed Checks/Monitoring - Cromwell Lane, Burton Green

  • Between 13-FEB-2018 (priorities set) and 12-MAR-2018 Kenilworth Safer Neighbourhood Team conducted six speed checks/monitoring sessions on Cromwell Lane. Twenty-two warning letters have been sent to motorists driving above 30mph. One motorist received a verbal warning. Five motorists have been reported for driving in excess of the 30mph speed limit.
  • Between 13-MAR-2018 and 12-MAY-2018 Kenilworth Safer Neighbourhood Team conducted three speed checks/monitoring sessions on Cromwell Lane. Nine warning letters have been sent to motorists driving above 30mph. A number of motorists received a verbal warning. Three motorists have been reported for driving in excess of the 30mph speed limit.
  • Between 13-MAY-2018 and 26-JUN-2018 Kenilworth Safer Neighbourhood Team conducted one speed check/monitoring session on Cromwell Lane.  

Kenilworth SNT have completed the set tasks as agreed.
