Coleshill man charged with possession of an imitation firearm and racially aggravate common assault

A Coleshill man has appeared at court charged with possession of an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear of violence, racially aggravated common assault and causing criminal damage.

Matthew Hoare, 44, of Church Hill, was arrested by British Transport Police on Friday 2 February on suspicion of possession of a firearm. It followed reports that at around 9.30am on 31 January on Church Hill a man had racially abused another man and damaged a car.

At around 1.20pm on the same day it is reported a man pointed what is believed to be an imitation firearm at the same victim.

Hoare appeared at Warwickshire Magistrates Court on Monday (5 February) and was remanded to appear at Warwickshire Crown Court on 8 March 2018.
