Appeal for witnesses to Nuneaton robbery

Officers investigating a robbery in Nuneaton are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

It happened on Willington Street at around 4.20am on Sunday (10 December). A man in his 50s was walking along when he is reported to have been struck from behind. He fell to the ground and suffered minor head and rib injuries.

The offenders are then understood to have demanded money from the victim, who handed over a quantity of cash, before they ran away. There are no descriptions of the offenders at this time but there are believed to have been at least two people.

Enquiries are currently ongoing but police are keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident, or who saw anyone acting suspiciously in the area.
