Appeal for witnesses after fatal collision near Stratford

Officers from Warwickshire Police are appealing for witnesses after a man died in a collision on the A46 last night (13 December).

Police were called to a location just north of Bishopton Island at 10.44pm, after receiving a report of a pedestrian being involved in a collision with two lorries.

It is believed the man was initially in collision with a lorry travelling northbound from the A46 Bishopton Island, before being involved in a second collision with a lorry travelling southbound towards the island.

A man in his 40s was confirmed deceased at the scene and a full closure was put in place between Bishopton and Marraway Islands.

Next of kin have been notified and a post mortem is due to take place.

Anyone who witnessed the collision is asked to call police on 101, quoting incident number 400 of 13 December.
