Triston Dickens, 30 years old and from Rugby, was sentenced to two years in prison after pleading guilty to a charge of wounding/inflicting grievous bodily harm without intent.

The incident happened in the early hours of Sunday 30 April and resulted in a man in his 20s suffering fractures to his leg that required surgery.

DC Gary Hammond of Rugby Offender Manager Unit said: "We welcome the result and sentencing and hope that the victim feels some sense of closure after their ordeal.

"Dickens was identified as a suspect and subsequently charged after his image was released in the local media and I am satisfied that he is now facing a lengthy time in prison for his actions."
