Annual Equality & Diversity Report

'Protecting people from harm' is our vision and is at the heart of our service delivery. This is achieved by working closely with our partners and local communities.  In these challenging times it is even more important for us all to live our values and to demonstrate equality, diversity and human rights in all that we do. This includes putting victims of crime and vulnerable people at the forefront.

The Equality Duty requires the force to show that in the decision-making processes, in service delivery and in our employment practices, we have had due regard to the need to:

  • eliminate unlawful discrimination, harassment and victimisation and any other conduct prohibited by the Act;
  • advance equality of opportunity between people who share a protected characteristic and people who do not share it; and
  • foster good relations between people who share a protected characteristic and people who do not share it
