Witness appeal following aggravated burglary in Bedworth

Detectives from Warwickshire Police are appealing for witnesses and information after an incident at Bedworth Ex-Servicemens club on Rye Piece Ringway in the early hours of Friday morning (8 September).

The incident happened shortly before 4am, when two unknown men are reported to have entered the rear garden of the premises and forced their way in through a window.

Once inside, the men are believed to have gone upstairs and woken up the occupants, threatening a man and women in their 20's with a bladed article.

The man was forced to open the tills and safe in the club, with the offenders stealing a large amount of cash before tying the victims up with tape and taking their mobile phones.

DC Gavin Wallwork of Nuneaton CID said: "Thankfully the victims did not receive any physical injuries but they were subjected to a distressing ordeal at the hands of the offenders.

"Both men are described as white, medium build and are reported to have spoken with strong northern accents.

"One was wearing black gloves and a hooded anorak with black combat trousers and the other was wearing black and white cycling gloves with black shoes, a zipped up hooded top and jean-like trousers.

"Anyone with information, or anybody who may have seen suspicious activity in the area at the time, is asked to call Warwickshire Police on 101 and quote incident number 44 of 8 September.
