The incident happened sometime between 5.20pm and 5.30pm on Thursday 27 July, when a man in his 50's was walking his dogs in Pool Bank Wreck.

Two men spoke to the victim about his dogs before following him as he walked back in the direction of St Mary's Church, Manor Court Road. One of the men is reported to have kicked one of the dogs, before hitting the victim on the head with a piece of wood.
