Three men charged with series of burglaries

Three men have been charged in connection with a series of burglaries in the Nuneaton area.

The first burglary occurred between 6.20pm and 7.15pm on Thursday 13 July on Lutterworth Road, Nuneaton.

The second burglary occurred at around 7.40pm on Thursday 13 July at a house on Tewkesbury Drive, Bedworth.

The Third burglary occurred between 10.30am and 11.35am on Friday 14 July on Nuneaton Road, Bulkington.

The men were all arrested on Friday (14 July) afternoon in the area around Regent Street, Bedworth, following a short police pursuit. The vehicle they were travelling in was allegedly stolen in the Manchester area.

Ben Lee, aged 20, of Northampton Road, Market Harborough, Leslie James Smith, aged 26, of Duffledown Way, Pershore and Lucky Junior Price, aged 18, of West Lane, Sheffield were all charged with one count of burglary with intent to steal and two counts of burglary dwelling and theft.

Lee was also charged with aggravated vehicle taking, dangerous driving and driving without third party insurance.

Smith and Price were also charged with being carried in a motor vehicle without the owner's consent.

A 22-year-old man from Market Harborough was also arrested on suspicion of robbery. He was taken to hospital with a leg injury and has been bailed until the middle of August while investigations continue.

Lee, Smith and Price will appear at Warwickshire Magistrates Court today (Monday 17 July).

Detective Constable Adie Hunter said: "We would like to thank all the local people who helped us to identify and locate the suspects following these incidents."
