Police appeal for witnesses following Coleshill disorder

Officers are investigating an incident of disorder which took place around 3pm yesterday afternoon (Monday, 10 July), on Digby Road, Coleshill.

A 57 year old man was assaulted and suffered facial and head injuries as a result of the incident and was taken to the Queen Elizabeth hospital, where he remains in a stable condition.  His injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

Detective Inspector Paul Thompson of Warwickshire Police, said: "In response to the disorder that took place, investigations are on-going to ascertain the circumstances that have led to the assault.

"This appears to be an isolated incident and there was no evidence to suggest any wider threat to the public.

"Anyone with any information, or who had been within the area at the time is urged to contact Warwickshire Police on 101, quoting incident 258 of 10 July 2017"

* A 46-year-old man from Coleshill was arrested on suspicion of assault. He has been released on police bail until 2 August 2017.
