Kenilworth and Whitnash drink drive campaigns

Special Constables in South Warwickshire carried out drink drive campaigns using speed detection guns in Kenilworth on 28 June and in Whitnash on 29 June 2017.

Stopped vehicles were checked and a number of drivers breathalysed to test how much alcohol had been consumed.

Special Sergeant Neil Turfrey said: "The Kenilworth drink drive campaign was very successful. We had six Special Constables out doing checks at a variety of locations for six hours. We only had one person arrested for being over the limit, but we had quite a few speeding tickets, a seized car and also attended a 'concern for welfare' job in the middle of it. It shows the benefits we achieve when we get people out in to the community".
