Appeal for information following assault in Nuneaton town centre

Detectives are appealing for information following an assault in Nuneaton town centre yesterday evening (Thursday 6 July).

Police were called at 10:31pm to reports of an injured 19-year-old man on New Century Way. It is believed that this was an assault, followed by an earlier altercation at the Co-Op Club in Dugdale Street.

The victim was taken to hospital with injuries to his head, where he is being treated for a fractured skull.

A 26-year-old man, from Nuneaton, has been arrested and remains in police custody at this time.

Detective Sergeant, Adam Clifford, said: "A thorough investigation is underway, and we would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the incident, or may have any information relating to this, as a matter of urgency.

"Should you have any information that could assist with ascertaining the details of the incident, please call 101, quoting incident 546 of 6 July".
