Head of Intelligence and Specialist Operations - Detective Superintendent Mark Loader

Biography

Detective Superintendent Mark Loader is the current Head of Intelligence and Specialist Operations for Warwickshire Police and West Mercia Police.

Mark has over 25 years service and has worked predominantly in Crime Investigation and Intelligence roles. He was also seconded to the National Crime Squad in 1999 returning to West Mercia on promotion to Sergeant.

He has served as a Detective Chief Inspector in the Major Investigation Unit and as T/Detective Supt Head of the Serious Organised Crime Unit, conducting the role of Senior Investigation Officer, leading investigations into Major and Serious Crime. These include investigations into international drugs trafficking, human trafficking and a complex bodiless murder.

Mark is also a nationally accredited Senior Investigating Officer in Kidnap and Extortion.

He was the alliance lead for Threats to Life and Modern Slavery with strategic responsibility for implementing a harmonised policy across Warwickshire and West Mercia. This had led to Mark working with the College of Policing to help develop the Approved Policing Practice in these critical areas of Policing.
