Head of Crime - Detective Chief Superintendent Debbie Tedds

Biography

Debbie Tedds was appointed as Head of Crime in May 2017..

Having joined Warwickshire Police in 1989, Debbie has a broad skill and knowledge base.  With a keen interest in investigations she predominantly worked her early career within the Criminal Investigations Department across Warwickshire.   On promotion to Superintendant in 2008 she moved into Local Policing and headed up the Forces Criminal Justice function before being seconded to Her Majesty Inspectorate of Constabulary as a specialist staff officer with responsibility for Vulnerability.

Having a wealth of operational experience some of the roles she has performed are Patrol, Criminal Investigation, Child Protection and Protecting Vulnerable Persons, Intelligence and Special Investigations.  She has also performed roles at both operational and command level within Search, Firearms, VIP Protection, Public Order and Hostage and Crisis Negotiations as well as working at a National level with Her Majesty Inspectorate of Constabulary.   

Moving into the Alliance with West Mercia Debbie was the Policing Area Commander for South Warwickshire and more latterly headed up the Alliance Strategic Service Improvement function being based at Hindlip Park.  Latterly she has undertaken temporary roles as ACC covering both Protective Services and Local Policing prior to taking up her new post as Head of Crime in May 2017.
