Did you witness an assault in Bedworth on Sunday?

Police in Bedworth are appealing for information to locate a suspect of an assault, thought to have happened around Bellairs Avenue, Potters Road and Kathleen Avenue.

The incident happened at approximately 4:13am on Sunday (11 June), where it was reported that a man was physically assaulted by two other men using long metal poles, believed to be golf clubs, and a bottle.

The two offenders then left the scene in a silver Ford Focus, which was found located on Henson Road, also in Bedworth, from where it is believed that they continued on foot.

The victim was taken to hospital with injuries to his head.

One of the two suspects, a 29-year-old man from Nuneaton, was arrested on suspicion of assault and has been released under investigation.

Police urge any witnesses of the incident, or anyone who may have seen either of the two offenders in the area at the time, to come forward and contact 101, quoting incident 78 of 11 June.
