Did you witness an assault in Stratford-upon-Avon?

Investigating officers from Warwickshire Police are appealing for witnesses after an alleged assault took place on the Birmingham Road in Stratford-upon-Avon, on Tuesday 23 May.

The incident happened at around 5:30pm when the victim, a man in his 70s was crossing the road with his dog at the junction of Joseph Way and Birmingham Road, when he came into collision with a white Ssangyong Rodius.

It has been reported that an altercation took place between the victim and the driver. There had been no injuries following the incident.

The offender is described as wearing a blue t-shirt and was of a medium build.

Sergeant Simon Ryan of Stratford Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: "As part of our on-going investigation we are trying to establish the circumstances that lead up to the incident.

"I am therefore appealing to anyone who had been driving along the Birmingham Road prior to the incident, or had been in the area at the time to come forward."
