Former Rugby teaching assistant found guilty of child sexual offence

A former teaching assistant at a primary school in Rugby has today been found guilty of a sexual offence against a pupil at the school.

Thomas Adam Brown, aged 28, of Gunton Avenue, Coventry, had pleaded not guilty to sexual assault by touching, but was today found guilty of the offence at Warwick Crown Court.

Brown will be sentenced at Warwick Crown Court on 30 March 2017.

He will also be sentenced for three counts of making indecent photographs of children for which he pleaded guilty at Warwick Crown Court last year.

Detective Constable Gavin Lambert said: "We take reports of abuse of children extremely seriously and would encourage anyone with concern over a person's conduct towards children to report it."

Incidents can be reported on 101 in a non-emergency or 999 in an emergency. Alternatively, information can be provided anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or via www.crimestoppers-uk.org
