Carol Cotterill Rural Crime Co-ordinator

Biography

Carol is the Coordinator for Crime in Rural Communities for North Warwickshire, a post funded by the Warwickshire Police and Crime Commissioner in 2014.  She covers the rural areas of North Warwickshire district, Nuneaton & Bedworth and Rugby, working from the Safer Neighbourhoods Team office in Coleshill.  Carol works closely with the local beat officers, Crime Prevention Advisor, Community Safety Partnership team and other partners to address crime in our rural areas and provide crime prevention advice.  One of the initiatives Carol has introduced is the Warwickshire Rural Watch website www.warwickshireruralwatch.co.uk which provides lots of information to help and support communities.

Carol is also a Police Support Volunteer with Warwickshire Police with special responsibilities for supporting watch schemes, which she has done for over 5 years.  She has helped set up Warwickshire Horse Watch (www.warwickshire-horsewatch.co.uk), Warwickshire Rural Watch and proactively supports Neighbourhood Watch.  As a PSV Carol has received a commendation from the Chief Constable, been recognised as a Community Champion and invited to Downing Street to meet the Prime Minister and received a Highly Commended National Award by the British Association of Women in Policing.
