Prince's Trust

Warwickshire Police is aiming to inspire young lives as part of a partnership with the youth charity The Princes Trust.

Million Makers Challenge

A small team of volunteer police officers and staff entered the Million Makers competition to celebrate the 40th Anniversary of The Prince's Trust. They came up with an original idea to raise money for The Trust.

The team will be working with schools, nurseries, play schemes, childminders, clubs and soft play groups, encouraging youngsters to create a design, on a canvass bag, which represents what they would like to be when they are older. The bags will then be sold to parents, relatives and friends with all profits going to the Prince's Trust. After pitching their business proposal to a dragon den's style panel including Prince's Trust representatives, the Deputy Chief Constable and Director of Finance for Warwickshire Police and West Mercia Police, they were successful in securing £1500 in seed funding. Over the next six months, they will be bringing their idea to life, with the aim of turning the seed funding into a minimum of £10,000.
