Warwickshire Police Cadets 2016 intake- three weeks left for applications

Warwickshire Police is recruiting for their latest round of Police Cadets for September 2016.

If you are in year 11 at school and interested in policing, then don't miss the opportunity to become a Police Cadet for your local area by submitting your application before Monday 29 February.

As a Police Cadet you will get to take part in exciting activities such as role playing, fitness and team building weekends.

Joining the Cadets will give you a unique opportunity to learn about policing, a chance to volunteer at local events and make a difference to your community. You will gain a variety of skills and study towards a Leadership & Team skills qualification at level 2, which is the equivalent to a GCSE A*-C.

Registered care manager at Bryn Melyn Care, Carolyn Kartal spoke of one of her residents who became a West Mercia Police Cadet. She said: 'We as a team alongside Peter's* college tutors have noticed how Peter's self esteem has soared since joining cadets, he has much more self belief and confidence. We have not witnessed a time when Peter has been more committed to doing something. He feels a real part of the group and has many friends there.'

To be eligible you must be:

  • aged 16.
  • and have finished secondary education and are thus eligible to start in September 2016 at a sixth form or other further education college; begin an apprenticeship or seek employment.

Meetings will take place every Thursday at the following locations:

  • North Warwickshire - North Warwickshire & Hinckley College
  • South Warwickshire - Warwickshire College Leamington Campus

To find out more there will be a drop-in session held at the Holiday Inn Express, St David's Way, Nuneaton on Monday 22 February from 7pm-8:30pm.
