  • Special Constables' profiles

    Special Constables come from all walks of life: mechanics, doctors, managers, marketing directors, insurance brokers, mortgage advisers, criminal investigators, students, television presenters, teachers, musicians, to name just a few. The profiles of Warwickshire Police Special Constables below highlight their experiences, their roles away from the police, and how volunteering benefits them and our communities.

  • Kenilworth Horse Fair

    Warwickshire Police Special Constables carried out reassurance patrols in Kenilworth on the Friday evening before the start of the Horse Fair, which ran from 29-30 July 2017. They also undertook duties in and around Kenilworth during the two days of the fair itself.

  • Warwick Folk Festival

    Special Constables were on patrol when Warwick was home to traditional and contemporary folk arts during the 38th annual Warwick Folk Festival, which took place in the town from 27-30 July 2017.

  • Kenilworth Food Festival

    An estimated 6,000 visitors attended the first Kenilworth Food Festival on Sunday, 23 July 2017, and Special Constables were on hand to patrol the event, maintain high visibility and provide public reassurance.

    12 Special Constables were part of a team that ensured the Warwick Freedom Parade went off without a hitch on Saturday, 22 July 2017.

  • The 'friendly side of policing'

    It was a busy couple of days for Special Constables in Warwick and Leamington Spa, maintaining a visible and accessible presence at three community events: Warwick Rocks Chilli and Cheese festival on 9 July; Leamington Spa Carnival on 15 July; and at the Thai festival at Warwick Racecourse on 16 July 2017.

  • Rugby Special Constables support child car seat safety checks

    North Warwickshire Special Constables assisted their Rugby Town West Safer Neighbourhood Team (SNT) colleagues with free child car seat safety checks at Elliott's Field Shopping Park on Saturday, 8 July 2017.

  • Kenilworth and Whitnash drink drive campaigns

    Special Constables in South Warwickshire carried out drink drive campaigns using speed detection guns in Kenilworth on 28 June and in Whitnash on 29 June 2017.

  • Whitnash Crackdown

    On 26 and 30 May and 7 and 15 June 2017, Warwickshire Police Special Constables focused on inconsiderate pavement parking and driving in Whitnash. Officers also targeted child seat safety issues, smoking and mobile phone offences as well as speeding concerns.
