Job Title - Safer Neighbourhood Team Support Volunteer

Location - 1 Opportunity at Atherstone and 1 Opportunity at Coleshill

Minimum requirement an average of 2-4 hours a week for minimum period of 12 months. Hours/days to be negotiated between volunteer and line manager

Main Purpose of role:

The purpose of this busy volunteering role is to assist the Atherstone and Coleshill Safer neighbourhood Team with general administration tasks, updating of databases and website pages, updates on social media platforms, creation of newsletters and attendance at external events, to allow the staff to be more visible within their local communities.

Main responsibilities:

The main duties that they need a Police Support Volunteer to assist with are:

  • Assistance with general administration tasks
  • Updating and maintenance of Team website pages, biographies, new stories and general information.
  • Updating and maintenance of key team databases
  • Creation and sending of newsletters
  • Assistance and attendance at external community events

However there may be other tasks which the PSV could assist with depending on their ability.

Skills and Knowledge: -

Experience in administrative/organisational procedures.

  • Reasonable IT skills (Word and Outlook).
  • A basic level of written skills
  • Good clear communicator/telephone manner
  • Good organisational skills
  • Positive and welcoming interpersonal skills.
  • An understanding of Data Protection and the need for confidentiality

Attitude and Personal Qualities: -

A willingness to be flexible and perform varied tasks.

  • The ability to deal with sensitive and confidential information in an appropriate manner.
  • A good team player that enjoys the support of others.
  • Ability to work on own with minimum of supervision when necessary.
  • Having a professional yet friendly nature and being able to respect diversity.
  • Willingness to learn about police and wider partnership services.

Ensure integrity, fairness and consideration of the needs of others is incorporated into daily duties and relationship with colleagues
