    I have forgotten my password / or would like to reset password - how do I do this?

    A:

    If you have forgotten or wish to reset your password, please use the 'Forgotten Password' link on the login page. An Email, containing a reset password link, will be sent to email account that you registered, allowing you to choose a new password. You will then be required to log in to the system using this password.

    How do I change my email address?

    A:

    If you need to change your email address, please contact the team via cmshelp@warwickshireandwestmercia.pnn.police.uk Please include a telephone number for us to contact you on, to assist you.

    I see a spinning wheel on maps, what does this mean?

    A:

    On page 3 of the registration form, you are required to select the area which you wish to receive the messages for. If you are unable to select a particular area and can only see a 'spinning wheel', please contact a member of the team, by email, at cmshelp@warwickshireandwestmercia.pnn.police.uk as we are aware that this is an issue which is affecting a small number of people. The maps section is a third party product and is with the creators of the system to resolve why this is happening.

    How do I change my CMS preferences?

    A:

    You can change or review your CMS preferences at any time, simply by logging in to 'Your CMS Account' and then selecting 'EMail CMS Preferences' - "Login to CMS" at the top of any force web page. The system is designed to allow you to tailor what you receive to your own specific needs.

    How do I navigate through the CMS Registration Process?

    To make the CMS registration process as straight forward as possible, we have included guidance notes (in blue text) in each section of the registration form. Please read these notes carefully and you should be able to successfully set up and register your account.

    I have successfully completed my registration, why am I not receiving messages?

    A:

    If you have successfully registered your account, have completed all of the preference selections and are not receiving messages, please contact a member of the team, by email, to cmshelp@warwickshireandwestmercia.pnn.police.uk Please include a brief description of the problem and include a telephone number so that we can contact you in order to help you.

    I have entered my email address to register and have been given my 5 digit PIN, but have not received my email link, why?

    A:

    It is important that you double check that you have correctly entered your email address as this where the system will direct the activation email to. If you email has been entered correctly and you still have not received the activation email, this may due to the spam filters on your computer.

    Register for your 'My Account' and Login to 'My Account' - what is the difference?

    A:

    Register for your 'My Account' is used to register for, and set up your Community Message Service (CMS) account for the first time. Login to 'My Account' option is for people who have registered on the system but wish to go back into their account to make changes to their preferences.

    Can I receive messages for more that one area?

    A:

    Yes, you can receive messages from as many areas, across the Warwickshire Police and West Mercia Police Alliance area as you wish.

    Can I receive more than on category of message?

    A:

    Yes, you can choose a single category or multiple categories according to your interests and requirements.

    Why am I receiving messages from outside my area?

    A:

    Some of our messages are sent across wide areas. For example, Rural, Horse, Waterways and Faith messages cover the whole of the Warwickshire and West Mercia Police Alliance area. Business related messages relate to a whole Policing area e.g. Herefordshire, Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin, North Warwickshire, South Warwickshire, North Worcestershire and South Worcestershire. Community Messages relate to local Police Safer Neighbourhood Team areas.

    I would like to pass on information to people in my area who don't have email addresses - how do I do this?

    A:

    We actively encourage the sharing of information contained in our messages. Please feel free to share on social media, local message boards and with friends, relations and neighbours who have no access to Email. The more people in an area who are aware of local incidents and are on the lookout for suspicious activity, the better chance we have of working together to keep our communities from harm.

    How can I give the Police some information?

    A:

    There are a number of ways that you can pass information to the police. In an emergency always ring 999 or 112. Unsure if it is an emergency? Then think 'POLICE'.
