Crime has fallen for three years running
In the last three years, crime has fallen by 19% - 8,500 fewer crimes committed**

Violent crime is down by 1/5
Violent crime was reduced by 21% last year the biggest reduction of any force in the country – which means many less people were injured by others*

392 fewer homes broken into
The number of homes broken into has fallen by 14% in three years – that’s 392 fewer break-ins**

1,482 less vehicles stolen or broken into
Compared to 2006/7, 1,482 fewer vehicles were stolen or broken into in 2008/9

What makes this so encouraging is that it’s not just the police achieving this success – it’s because our partners and local communities are getting involved too.
