Q. I want to fly into Warwickshire from Eire but cannot comply with the 12 hours rule, is there any other option available?
A) The only other option is to fly into a ‘Designated’ port such as Coventry Airport, failing to comply with the requirements of the Terrorism Act 2000 is a criminal offence. Please contact the Ports Unit for any further advice.
Q. What happens if I am diverted to a Warwickshire airport due to poor weather or problems with my aircraft?
A) Please complete a GAR in the Air Traffic Control (ATC) on arrival with a brief explanation on it why you were diverted.
Q. One leg of my flight has been authorised by Warwickshire Police Special Branch but I need to change my destination airport to one outside Warwickshire, will my authorisation still stand?
A) No. You will need to notify Special Branch in the area of your new destination and they will require you adhere to the ’12 hour rule’.
