SPOTLIGHT ON WELLESBOURNE / SHIPSTON SECTION

Special Update: Find out what the specials are doing in your area

Special constables are currently assisting the local CBO's of Shipston on Stour and Lighthorne Heath in dealing with issues associated with Anti Social behaviour, through high visibility patrols.

Over the last twelve months, Shipston and Wellesbourne specials have held a number of Community Safety Awareness days, supported by Warwickshire County Council Libraries who have hosted the events both at Wellesbourne and Kineton Libraries, working with the local Community beat officers, PCSO's and Neighbourhood Watch to promote community safety issues and help reduce the fear of crime within the area. The specials are hoping to arrange similar events in the near future. Watch this space.

The Special Constabulary is currently promoting the Rural Watch and Rural Pub Watch schemes and will be visiting local farms, tack yards, local hostelries and other rural businesses to sign up new members on to these watch schemes. We hope to sign up 15 new members to Rural Watch over the next two months, giving us a 150% increase in members for the district. The Rural Pub Watch scheme has just been launched and we have already signed up three new members and will be encouraging as many as possible to join over the coming months. Anyone interested in finding out more about the Rural Watch Schemes can contact Mike Prickett at Stratford Police Station on via the switchboard 01926 415000.
