The firearms licensing team are responsible for administering the licensing processes of all the current firearms and explosives legislation. The law is complex and has been subject to considerable amendment over the years. It is not just about those persons who want to possess firearms, shotguns or explosives but also relates to the wider issues of firearms dealers, shooting clubs, grounds and shooting sports in general.

For this reason, in addition to granting and renewing any of the certificates you may require in order to possess and use firearms (including shotguns) or explosives, the team provide an advisory service to the public at large, and to the police and shooting community in particular.
