Warwickshire-Wide LGB&T Forum
As part of our Diversity Development Group, Warwickshire Police has recently formed an external consultation group. The aims of this group are:
- To provide an open channel of communication between the communities, the police and associated agencies.
- Co-ordination of efforts throughout the community.
- To develop an open and inclusive form of organisation relevant to the issues affecting the LGB&T communities.
- Raising awareness of and tackling LGB&T related crime.
- To promote and celebrate inter-group diversity.
The objectives are of the group are:
- Increasing the level of reporting.
- Opening up existing channels of communication
- Dealing with the current issues sensitive, relevant and appropriate manner and increasing confidence.
- To provide feedback on policies and policy strategies
- Hate crimes: violence, damage, harassment, verbal abuse.
This consultation group is in the early stages of its work it provides an exciting opportunity for Warwickshire Police to work in partnership with members of the gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender communities.
