Neighbourhood Watch

ROLE OF A MEMBER

What does a Neighbourhood Watch member have to do?

A Neighbourhood Watch member has the responsibility to:

  • Be alert and respond to what is going on in your neighbourhood. You do not have do anything other than be alert! Being vigilant doesn’t mean you have to be a vigilante.
  • If you have the time you could become involved in helping to run your local scheme, also assisting in preparing newsletter and meetings.

By taking simple steps in your community, e.g. giving an elderly resident who lives alone some help, pushing mail completely through a letterbox etc, you can help deter opportunist criminals visiting your area.
