INTRODUCTION The Warwickshire Police Security Systems Administrator is responsible for managing policy relating to security systems, which include intruder and personal attack alarms, stolen vehicle tracking equipment and remotely monitored CCTV systems.
Warwickshire Police follows the Association of Chief Police Officers (ACPO) Police Response to Security Systems Policy, which can be viewed on the Secured by Design Website.
The Policy is a living document and is therefore constantly under review. It is regularly updated to reflect developments in technology and procedures agreed by the Security Systems Working Group in consultation with the industry. The policy also allows for individual forces to operate variations to the full ACPO policy, which are detailed in the Appendix A document published by each force. Ours is available for download here.
The full ACPO policy covers the recognition of companies installing security systems, the registration of systems and maintenance of records relating to those systems. The Policy also explains the action that will be taken in relation to systems causing unacceptable levels of false calls. It includes all of the forms necessary for companies to correspond with the Warwickshire Police Security Systems Administrator. These forms are also available separately below.
The Appendices have been placed on the Warwickshire Police website as PDF and/or Microsoft Word and Excel files for ease of access. They are Warwickshire Police versions of the relevant appendices contained in the ACPO policy and can be downloaded from here.
PLEASE NOTE that from 1st January 2010 the URN administration fee is £41.38 plus VAT at the prevailing rate. (Currently 17.5% - £7.24)
