Welcome to the Security Systems and PoliceSafe sections of the Warwickshire Police website. The two sections concern monitored alarm systems - Security Systems - and our keyholder registration scheme - PoliceSafe.
Usually installed in business premises, but also becoming a “home essential”, these are monitored alarm systems. Installed by an NSI or SSAIB registered and approved alarm installation company (details can be found on their respective websites) and monitored 24/7 by an Alarm Receiving Centre (ARC). These systems automatically inform the ARC of an activation, who will then notify the police. Attendance is based on various factors but we aim to achieve attendance within nationally agreed attendance times.
Alarm activations mainly fall into two categories: Intruder activations where the system detects apparent unlawful entry to a premises or personal attack activations whereby a person or persons physically press a “panic button” to notify an immediate concern for their safety or anothers. Further information about the police response to these systems can be found on the Security Systems pages here, including downloadable forms for use by Alarm Installation & Maintenance companies.
PoliceSafe is an electronic registration system made available to businesses, community locations and private residents to register their preferences with regards to keyholders, call out rota’s, and emergency service provisions i.e. boarding up company, plumber etc. For a small annual subscription fee details are kept up to date for emergency and out of hours use. Amendments can now be notified online, however new applications currently need to be made by post. Further information about this service is available here, including links to our downloadable forms.
