Crime reduction

Crime reduction is an important part of the fight against the criminal. In order for a crime to be committed three elements have to be in place.

A target - this can be anything from a TV or Playstation in the case of burglary, or a human being in the case of violence.

An offender - this speaks for itself but can be anyone from a burglar to a murderer.

A lack of a capable guardian -  or in other words, the target has little or no protection and the offender has the opportunity to obtain it.

Take away any one of these three elements and the crime will not take place

In this section we will be concentrating on the lack of a capable guardian and what we can all do about protecting our own targets.
