Paul Mason-Brown has worked within the police service as a police officer for 30 years, and since May 2008, when he was appointed Head of Learning & Development, as a member of police staff.
His career as an officer was with three police forces, Cheshire Constabulary, West Mercia Constabulary and Warwickshire Police, which he joined in 2001 on promotion to Superintendent. As an officer he worked in uniform policing and plain clothes, but predominantly in neighbourhood policing, roads policing, tactical firearms and training.
Latterly in Warwickshire, as a temporary Chief Superintendent he programme managed the innovative force re-organisation that ensures we focus on doing the right things to protect communities from harm, eliminating inefficiencies within our structure and services. As a result, Warwickshire Police has become the first force to discontinue the traditional Basic Command Unit (BCU) structure for policing, and other small forces are now following our lead.
Having been a recipient of the Resources Directorate services and facilities as an operational officer and commander for many years, Paul ensures that the professional services he and his team deliver achieves operational policing success.
