Aim
To enable personnel to use their Airwave handset effectively and efficiently.

Objectives
By the end of the session the student will be able to:

  • Explain the benefits of Airwave
  • Describe equipment functionality
  • Effectively use the handset to make group calls
  • Demonstrate making internal and external calls
  • Demonstrate text messaging
  • Explain the functionality of transmission barring
  • Summarise the policy and procedure relating to use of the emergency button
  • Demonstrate the use of status messages
