This authority permits the succesful student to drivethe vehicle whilst adhering to all traffic laws and restrictions

Aim
To provide the skills and underpinning knowledge required in order to obtain the authority to drive the Mobile Community Police Station

Objectives
At the end of the assessment the candidate will be able to:

  • Demonstrate the appropriate approach in line with that outlined in the Essential Attitudes/Stress management module of the standard driving section
  • Complete basic vehicle safety checks, recognise, report and document obvious defectsq Be competent in the use of all vehicle controls.
  • Reverse and while doing so enter limited openings to the left and right.
  • turn the vehicle round in the road to face the opposite direction using forward and reverse gears.
  • Park close to the kerb using forward and reverse gears.
  • Approach and turn corners safely.
  • Make adequate progress.
  • Keep a proper distance when following other vehicles.
  • Drive this clearly liveried Police Vehicle to a level that will demonstrate, to the public, good practice & skills
