Aim
To provide skills in driving 4x4 vehicles in adverse conditions both on & off road

Objectives
At the end of the assessment the candidate will be able to:

• explain the principles of four-wheel drive
• explain the principles of various transmission systems + mechanical/electrical aids eg; traction control/hill descent etc...
• assess suitability of the vehicle's ability to safely negotiate a range of conditions both on & off road
• demonstrate accurate assessment of both driver's & vehicle's ability to negotiate various conditions & hazards in the vehicle provided
