Additional Information

Aim
To train students in the knowledge, understanding, skills, attitudes and behaviour so that they can deliver courses in Personal Safety.

Objectives
By the end of the course the students will be able to.

• Check their body armour and other PPE to ensure it is usable, worn correctly and adequately maintained.
• Demonstrate empty hand skills as identified in separate lesson plans.
• State the current position in Warwickshire with regard to number and types of complaints made against Police
• Demonstrate skills using all items of PPE as identified in separate lesson plans
• State the guidance given regarding use of the P3 Respirator.
• Demonstrate correct procedures for fitting and removing the P3 Respirator
• Issue the P3 Respirator and Guidance notes to all students.
• Identify tactics that have proved successful to Officers.
• Identify tactics that have proved unsuccessful to Officers.
• Describe tactics that could be included within the Personal Safety Manual.
• Identify situations where restraining skills and techniques are required.
