The Gap which runs a variety of initiatives focusing on young people who are at risk or have been issued with Acceptable Behaviour Contracts or ASBO's on the Percy Estate in North warwick, is awarded £4,916.34 towards the costs of a youth worker and administration.
Ian Smith, Chair of the Trustees of The Gap said "This is fantastic news and means we can now afford to employ a full time youth worker to work with young people on the estate over the next year.
"We offer a range of activities and facilities to help positively direct young people's energies and the Youth Worker plays a key part organising events and offering guidance and support to the young people.
"We've organised football training, life skills projects and drama projects that look at the effect of bullying and also help with homework. The Gap also take young people on residential experiences designed to challenge them and build confidence and self esteem. We also provide inter generational activities and young people at The Gap have recently completed a mural centrepiece for the garden."
