INTRODUCTION TO SERVICE PROVISION DATA

In this section we provide equality data about key aspects of our service provision. When delivering services we collect data where appropriate in relation to the protected characteristics of the service user in order to help monitor the equality impact of our service provision. You will find the data tables we have published by clicking on the link below. We have also provided information about the key issues arising from data monitoring and the steps we have taken to address these issues. Service provision data is displayed under the following headings:

The following data tables refer to the period 1 April 2010 to 31 March 2011.

Identifying Gaps in our Data on Service Provision

As a result of reviewing and publishing this data we have identified gaps in our monitoring where we believe we can usefully introduce more data to help us achieve better equality outcomes.

In order to address these gaps we have created a working group including with representatives from Human Resources, Corporate Communications and Strategic Development, who are responsible for data collection and publication, which will have a responsibility for ensuring the relevant data is properly collected, analysed and disseminated, including publishing on our web site. The group is being chaired by our Equality, Diversity & Human Rights Manager. The working group will begin to work on the data gaps identified so far, with a view to introducing the new information to fill the gaps by the time of next publishing the data in May/June 2012.

Identified data gaps

  1. Comparison of service provision data with data for the previous year.
  2. Comparison/benchmarking information relating to ‘Most Similar Forces’ to Warwickshire.
  3. Rationalising the age categories we use across all data tables to match the categories used in census data reports.
  4. The inclusion of detection rates for all crime by protected characteristics.
  5. The inclusion of more detailed information about the police use of force, ensuring information about the use of Tazer is particularly included.
  6. Consider arranging satisfaction surveys so as to extend to all hate crimes and then publish the esults with our satisfaction survey data (currently only racist crimes are featured in the survey results).
