As the Force lead on Equality Diversity and Human Rights, I am pleased to announce our new Equality Plan 2011-12.

Equality, Diversity and Human Rights must be at the heart of everything we do - and this new Plan sets out the equality objectives and key areas of focus we will now be concentrating on in the coming 12 months.

The Plan replaces our former Combined Equality Scheme and Equality Strategy documents and aligns us with the new requirements of the Equality Act 2010. I urge all members of the organisation and interested parties in the wider community, to read the Plan and consider how you personally can contribute to its aims and objectives.
