EMPLOYMENT DUTY REPORTS

Introduction to the Employment Reports

The data contained in our employment reports deals with a wide range of aspects of employment within Warwickshire Police. We collect and monitor employment data in order that we can ensure our employment policies and practices are fair, that they are working properly and that we are aware of any disproportionality or potential discriminatory policies, so that we can take steps to rectify where possible. We also use the data to identify issues of potential ‘occupational segregation’ and barriers to recruitment, retention and progression of police and support staff. This information, which we have systematically collected and published annually since 2006, is also used and referred to in our equality analysis processes and when we plan recruitment initiatives.

The data that we are publishing in this report we hope will enable transparency and will demonstrate the steps we have taken to tackle potential and actual inequalities arising from the scrutiny of our employment data. The information and statistics we are publishing comes from our HR database (NSPIS HR) and covers two periods. In releasing this data we have been careful to ensure that no member of our staff can be identified – this is our responsibility under the Data Protection Act. We have provided a summary of the key issues we feel have emerged from the data, including some of the uses to which we have put our data monitoring. You can also see each data report which contains the actual data tables, divided into specific subject headings. There is a contents list at the beginning of each report to assist the reader in locating a specific topic of interest.
